First Regatta Win

I was lucky enough to win my first regatta ever last weekend - in my new MacLaughlin optimist! OK, it was only a regional one. But anyway, I really like my first gold medal. We sailed "Saffainseli-Cup" that was organized by one of the large sailing clubs around the Lake of Zurich, my home lake.
It was the first regatta in a year that I sailed with my sailing club and not with my talent team. We were eleven kids from my club and it was really cool to have them around! We went by rib in the morning , that was a very special way of getting to the regatta spot.
We sailed five races, four in good wind on Sat. and one in shifty and weak winds an Sun. My brother came in fourth, basically because I had an OSC in the last race ;-(. My fellow talent team member Nik became 2nd.

Coming up next is the Zürichsee Cup 2015 where teams (an Optimist, a 420, a Laser, or a 29er and a yacht) from different Lake Zurich sailing clubs sail against each other. My sailing club is the defender of the trophy. I will sail both my optimist and the team yacht, joint with my father and my coach Sebastian Beer. Looking forward to it!!!
